Socialist Architecture in New Sarajevo
Next, we continue to the western part of Sarajevo to explore the socialist neighbourhood of Ciglane, characterised by its typical Communist-era architecture. Along the way, we pass by Marshal Tito’s military barracks, one of the largest military compounds in the former Yugoslavia. -
Vraca Memorial Park
We then proceed to Vraca Memorial Park, a significant WWII memorial site that honours the victims of Sarajevo. The park contains statues, marble plates with the names of partisan brigades, and a fortress that once served as a stronghold during the war. -
Trebevic Bobsleigh Track
Our journey continues to the famous Trebevic Bobsleigh Track, a relic from the 1984 Winter Olympics. The track, now adorned with colourful graffiti, serves as a powerful reminder of Sarajevo’s Olympic history and the impact of the war. -
