Introduction to Bjelašnica
Your adventure begins with a drive from Sarajevo to Bjelašnica Mountain, a popular winter destination located southwest of the city. Upon arrival, your guide will introduce you to the snowshoeing equipment and provide a brief overview of the mountain’s geography, geology, and history.

Bjelašnica Overview: Rising to 2,067 metres, Bjelašnica is part of the Dinaric Alps and features prominent peaks such as Krvavac (2,061 m), Mali Vlahinja (2,055 m), and Hranisava (1,964 m). The mountain’s name comes from the Bosnian word “bijel,” meaning white, reflecting its snow-covered slopes.
